Some of the camera movements, characters animations and the transitions between both technics are sometimes impressive and very original (see some of the inn fight in ep.2). The mix of 2d and 3d is not always perfect, a bit weird at times, and even pretty bad in ep.4 (the crowd surrounding the carriage), but I think it was worth it. People don't know what I'm talking about, but I have to mention a thing or two: The voices are good, however, seems to have been re-recorded for some of the characters and it look out of synch with the animation a couple of times(but I'm very picky. funnier tracks during the more relaxed scenes. Opening and credits are good, and I even enjoyed some of the lighter and Clearly getting some vibes from "Lone wolf and cub", Miike, Sergio Leone movies etc. the pinch of political scheming, cast of anti-heros, and enigmatic characters is a nice addition to the mix.
Plain and simple historical "western" with swords, a lot of blood, and severed limb flying around. It has it flaws, which I will enumerate in this honest review (because good shows deserve it), but oh man am I glad I gave it a shot. This is by far the best anime this season, imo.
